About The Crows Nest

This beautiful one-bedroom apartment was carved out of the main floor of the Crows Nest, an 1851 antebellum mansion. If you love vintage buildings, you will love this apartment. It has 10-foot ceilings, original large colonial windows and molding, and pine floors. The large living room has great light and overlooks the large front yard. There is a lovely mantel and ceiling medallion in the living room. The apartment has a full bath and a large kitchen with a new granite counter top, stainless steel sink, and spacious cabinets for storage. A space next to the kitchen has room for a table and chairs and can be used for meals or as office space. A window on the west side of the kitchen has access to a screened porch that overlooks the back patio. There are remote ceiling fans in both the kitchen and the bedroom. This is a locked building, very secure and private. The patio behind the mansion is available to all tenants and includes tables, chairs and a barbecue grill. The Crows Nest was started in 1837 and completed in 1851. It was originally the main house on a 200- acre estate. Both union and confederate troops used it during the civil war. The brick patio between the back of the mansion and the Smoke House is available to all tenants and has outdoor tables and chairs. The building is locked, very secure and private. It is in the center of Berryville and a short walk to numerous restaurants and stores as well to the town parks and the branch of Handley Library on that is next to Rose Hill park. The building has its own laundry room with some storage. There is internet and cable access. Rent includes hot and cold water, trash pickup, snow removal and yard care. Your only need to pay for electricity, phone and Internet. Berryville is located at US 340 and business Route 7. It is 25 miles west of Leesburg and 10 miles east of Winchester. The Crows Nest is located downtown, two short blocks from the main street where there are many restaurants and cafes, banks and shops. It is a short walk across Rose Hill Park to city and county offices and the library. No smoking, please. No Pets. Lease ( 1-year), security deposit (one and a half months rent), and references are required.
