Now that I've been living here for over 6 months, I can confidently say it was the best decision I could have made. One of the biggest draws of The James is undoubtedly its prime downtown Denver location. Situated just west of the Golden Triangle Creative District, it puts you within walking distance of all the best that Denver has to offer. In less than 15 minutes, you can stroll to the 16th Street Mall, Larimer Square, Civic Center Park, Coors Field, and more. All the major bus and light rail lines are also just a short walk away, making transit incredibly convenient. As someone who loves being able to explore the city on foot, I've truly appreciated having so many fun neighborhoods at my fingertips without having to get in the car.
The building itself is located right on Broadway between 11th and 12th Avenues. This intersection sees a ton of pedestrian and vehicle traffic each day, ensuring The James always feels lively and engaged with the street. But step inside the luxury lobby and you'd never guess you were in the midst of such a bustling area. The noise from the city quickly fades away, transporting you to an oasis of calm.
Spacious & Modern Units
My one-bedroom unit here at The James has definitely exceeded my expectations in terms of size and style. At roughly 750 square feet, it feels incredibly spacious and open compared to other downtown apartments I've seen. The floor plan is well laid out with defined spaces for living, dining, and sleeping. Everything from the tall ceilings to the large windows flooding the space with natural light help accentuate the airy feel.
All the finishes and fixtures have been selected with quality and sophistication in mind. From the quartz countertops and stainless steel appliances in the modern kitchen to the carpeted bedrooms and tile bathrooms, every detail exudes luxury. My favorite features include the large walk-in closet, in-unit washer/dryer, and overhead heating/cooling system controlled by a smart thermostat. The building also has keyless entry doors for the ultimate in convenience. Overall, the units here at The James have been thoughtfully designed with both function and style in mind.
Exceptional Amenities
While the units themselves are surely worth raving about, it's The James' incredible collection of amenities that truly sets it apart. The grand rooftop lounge & outdoor kitchen is where I spend most of my free time soaking in panoramic views of the city. It has lounge seating, grills, a fire pit, and plenty of green space—the perfect place to unwind after work. There is also a well-equipped fitness center on the 7th floor, which I frequent a few times a week.
Additional perks include a lavish lobby lounge, coworking spaces, golf simulator, and resident storage lockers. Being able to print or ship packages from the convenient package lockers saves me trips to the post office. There is even a dog wash station for my furry friend. Overall, the combination of indoor and outdoor amenities means residents never have to leave the building if they don't want to. Everything has been flawlessly maintained and managed by the attentive on-site staff as well.
Sense of Community
My neighbors here at The James are truly what make this feel like a home, not just a place to live. We've formed such a wonderful community through organized social events, monthly residents' meetings, and casual encounters in the common areas. The property managers do a fantastic job fostering these connections and ensuring all residents feel engaged.
In the few short months I've lived here, I've gotten to know dozens of friendly faces. We often grab drinks together on the roof or hold brunch gatherings in the lounge. I was even able to meet my future workout buddy in the gym. The James emphasizes bringing people together and cultivating new friendships—a refreshing change from more isolated high-rise living. There is a real sense of support and camaraderie amongst us all.

From the immaculate landscaping and building exteriors to 24/7 dedicated door staff, The James delivers unmatched levels of service. Any time I've needed assistance with maintenance requests, package issues, or other concerns, the response has been immediate. I always feel that my comfort and satisfaction are the top priority.
When factoring in all that The James provides—from the unbeatable location to lavish amenities to wonderful resident community—I truly feel it is an incredible value for the price. Being able to walk most places and access such impressive resident perks without leaving home makes this feel like the luxury living experience of a much higher price point. I would not hesitate to recommend The James to anyone searching for a full-service upscale apartment in the heart of downtown Denver. Five out of five stars all the way - it exceeds expectations in every way.
